Job description

An award winning studio based in Glasgow City Centre who specialise in the design of low energy buildings, with low environmental impact, that are designed to the highest quality in the most cost effective manner. They are renowned for having a really talented team and a broad range of work across science, universities, residential, distilleries, commercial and education.

The pride themselves on having a truly fun, but professional office environment. They really do have a great bond between their staff in the the office, and that is something that can be seen with their staff retention over the years.

The Role

  • Qualified and enthusiastic Part 3 Architect with strong design and delivery skills.
  • You will have project support from assistant architects and technicians, operating within a team structure working closely with the Associate Directors, and Director of the studio.
  • You must be capable of developing design proposals to high standards of quality and delivering projects on time in accordance with the brief.
  • You will need to comfortable delivering projects up to circa £15m in value. Including Education, Housing, Distilleries and University work.

Qualifications/Experience/Qualities

  • Circa 5 years experience post part III.
  • More importantly is that you have a proven track record in running your own projects as the project architect.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities.
  • Passion for design excellence and sustainability with a solid understanding of buildings energy use and a drive to reduce it.
  • Creativity and design flair.
  • Exceptional sketching skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • Fluency in the following: Revit, Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.
  • Ability to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project.
  • Revit experience is also essential.
  • A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and commitment to independent, lifelong learning.
  • Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure while remaining calm and professional at all times.
  • Good organisational skills and an enthusiastic attitude.
