Job description

Morgan Hunt are working with a leading UK government agency to recruit a Senior Architect. As a Senior Software Architect, you'll play a pivotal role in driving the digital transformation of government services. Your focus will be on designing robust solutions that align with industry standards and best practices.

Drawing from your extensive software development background, you'll lead the design and implementation of cutting-edge .NET applications while also shaping the broader architectural landscape. Your vision for government services, coupled with your ability to articulate this vision to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, will be instrumental in driving innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing technical services and planning system integration, leveraging appropriate platforms and technologies to meet project requirements and user needs.
  • Crafting solutions encompassing data storage and security, adhering to established industry standards.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues across infrastructure, security, data, and operations domains.
  • Implementing a Microservice Shared Service Architecture to enhance scalability and maintainability.
  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive architecture documentation, ensuring clarity and coherence.
  • Providing guidance to Technical Leads and Developers, empowering them to design and implement robust technical solutions.
  • Establishing and maintaining technical roadmaps, anticipating future opportunities and challenges.
  • Facilitating communication across development teams to identify strategic requirements and dependencies.
  • Contributing to the Technical Design Authority and fostering a positive technical culture grounded in agile methodologies.
  • Offering insights to product managers regarding effort estimation and technical implications of user stories.

Key Deliverables:

  • Supporting the delivery of innovative digital solutions that meet user needs effectively.
  • Representing the Architecture team to ensure the alignment of programmes of work with architectural principles.
  • Overseeing and governing key architectural deliverables throughout all project phases.
  • Supporting IT and Business strategy through architecture programmes aligned with short-, medium-, and long-term goals.
  • Driving efficiency improvements across project lifecycles and leveraging technology effectively.
  • Providing expert technical architecture guidance to project teams.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting technology architecture using Microsoft technologies.
  • Strong familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), including architecture and development management.
  • Recent experience with cloud technology architectures, particularly Azure.
  • Proficiency in software development methodologies such as Agile or SCRUM.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience applying IT security principles to technology architecture and software lifecycles.
  • Familiarity with CRM/XRM software platforms like Salesforce.

Role Details:

  • Salary- Up to £70, 222 or London, £75, 238
  • Pension of 27%
  • Open to Part Time, or reduced hours
  • 1 day per week in the office
  • Office locations include Glasgow, London or Cardiff
