Job Title: Employment Skills Trainer

Job Type: Temporary - possibility for temporary to permanent.

Location: Wolverhampton

Industry: Education

Hours: 37 hours a week

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • To deliver employability training programmes signpost learners to relevant provision, including next steps
  • To deliver and assess qualifications (accredited and non-accredited) in line with college IQA and awarding body requirements
  • To ensure delivery plans map student's learning to accredited qualification specifications in line with programme aims
  • To use appropriate resources to support training and assessment including delivery plans
  • To attend review meetings for students and advocate for student progress and achievement
  • To ensure learners' attendance is recorded promptly and accurately
  • To be responsible for learners' on-programme experience and outcomes
  • To record learners' progress on College systems
  • To support the initial review of student programme suitability and to initially assess their academic levels

Skills & experience

  • Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service
  • A UK recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, DTLLS, Cert Ed, or equivalent is essential
  • Maths and English GCSE
  • Experience delivering training programmes to re-engage learners currently not in employment or education/training.
  • Experience of assessing relevant programmes including caseloads.
  • Evidence of good classroom practice and excellent teaching, including the use of different learning styles.
  • Evidence of teaching, which demonstrates good progress and achievement of pupils across the ability range.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to form good working relationships with
  • Good communication, organisational and administrative skills.
