Job Title: Head of Motor Vehicle & Construction
Reports to: Assistant Principal
Salary Range: £45,000 - £47,200
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

About You
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Motor Vehicle & Construction. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the motor vehicle industry or a related discipline, coupled with proven leadership skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee curriculum management, resource & financial management, and quality improvement within the Motor Vehicle and Construction department.
  • Drive student access and progression by providing effective teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.
  • Lead and manage staff within the department, ensuring performance aligns with college objectives.
  • Plan and organise courses and activities within the area, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor student progress to improve success rates, while maintaining quality assurance.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to meet the needs of students and enhance the learning experience.
  • Act as a champion of College Core Values, fostering a culture of excellence, diversity, and equality.

Essential Criteria

  • Full Level 4 qualification within the motor vehicle industry (or related discipline), or willingness to obtain this qualification while in post.
  • Teaching qualification, with experience in the management and delivery of engineering qualifications.
  • Clear understanding of the Motor Vehicle sector industry needs and strategies to meet required skills.
  • Track record of curriculum development and sustaining above benchmark success rates.
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.
