Senior Facilities Manager

Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Senior Facilities Manager on a temporary basis and could become a perm role at a salary of £44-49k. The position will be based in St Albans Herts and covers sites in Welwyn Garden City and a smaller campus in Borhamwood. For further information about this position please apply. Outline below:

  • Lead the Facilities and transport teams to provide a highly effective service to support the college in achieving its objectives, including embedding and monitoring the Service Desk to ensure that minimum standards are established and adhered to.
  • Effective and proactive management of the Facilities budgets, ensuring that the team operates within budgetary constraints and achieves value for money in all activities.
  • Be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of a planned and preventative maintenance programme and establish and maintain effective procedures and systems to facilitate this.
  • Overall responsibility, including monitoring and review, of facilities management contracts in accordance with college procedures to ensure they meet the needs of customers and achieve value for money. Contracts include mechanical and electrical services, cleaning services, grounds maintenance, car parking, catering and security.
  • Strategic management and monitoring of the utilisation of the College's estate in relation to rooms, buildings and land. Responsibility for completing and updating the College's e-Mandate returns on a periodic basis.
  • Develop and drive the implementation of the College's Sustainability Policy and Action Plan, including Environmental Management Systems. Also to include travel and transport considerations as well as waste and energy efficiencies.
  • The strategic management of:
    • the College's Transport Fleet of mini-buses, vans and professional drivers
    • the College's overarching Travel Plan coordination
    • the College's Farm and Arable Contracts
    • rented facilities, including stakeholder management.
