Finance Business Partner

Morgan Hunt is working with a College in South Yorkshire who are looking at recruiting a Finance Business Partner. The perfect candidate will be responsible for providing detailed, good quality financial information to enhance decision making, enable delivery of strategic initiatives and improve financial performance. This permanent on-site role is based in Doncaster and is paying up to £36,000.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner:

  • To have effective business partnering skills, derived from experience in communicating financial reports, effective negotiation and the ability to analyse complex information and reach robust conclusions.
  • To attend regular monitoring and planning meetings with the budget holders to support them in planning their annual budget and operating within the constraints of the budget.
  • To analyse curriculum and commercial financial performance, identifying causes of cost or income variances and reporting findings and recommendations to the Senior Leadership and Curriculum Leaders.
  • Develop and provide accurate, timely and comprehensive financial management information packs on a monthly basis. This will include budget vs actuals, variance analysis, KPIs and commentaries.
  • To support the Head of Finance to monitor and control cash flow through the management of the Group's funds within the definitions of the Treasury Management Policy.

Previous Skills and Experience of the Finance Business Partner:

  • Educated to degree or AAT level with strong numerical skills
  • 2 to 3 year's experience in a role such as Management Accountant or Finance Analyst.
  • Experience of preparing information for senior management to assist with strategic decision making.
  • Experience of financial planning, budget setting, forecasting, management accounts and variance analysis.
  • Pays attention to detail and has experience in preparing timely and accurate monthly management accounts information.
  • Has excellent IT skills (Excel) and understand finance software.
