Job Title: Homeless Support Officer - Floating Support - Young Persons Service
Job Type: Temporary
Location: Birmingham

The organisation
In this Homeless Support Officer opportunity in Birmingham you will join an charity helping vulnerable customers get access to temporary accommodation and help them sustain and maintain an independent lifestyle for when they leave.
Key responsibilities
In this Homeless Support Officer job, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting customers with housing support - applying for housing benefits / universal credit
- Dealing with rent arras / evictions when needed / service charge
- Encouraging customers to sustain a long term tenancy at the end of their stay - helping them apply for jobs / getting back Into college / learning how to budget appropriately
- Carrying out routine health and safety / well-being checks
- Also helping signpost to other agencies to help with mental health / substance misuse / domestic violence
Skills & experience of a Homeless Support Officer
- Proven track record of working within supported housing / homelessness
- Able to work Monday to Friday - Office based
- Can commute across the whole of Birmingham - car driver NOT necessary
- A valid DBS child and adult cleared Issued within 12 months or on the update service
