Job Title: Homeless Support Officer
Job Type: Temporary

The organisation
In this Homeless Support Officer opportunity in Wolverhampton, you will join a charity helping young people, between the ages of 16-25, gain access to temporary accommodation as a result of being homeless.
Key responsibilities of a Homeless Support Officer
- Managing a small caseload of homeless young people living in temporary accommodation. Assisting them with housing support / applying for benefits
- Promoting independence - learning how to cook a basic meal / learning how to budget appropriately / pay rent / handle service charge
- You will be responsible to maintain health and safety procedures on site - making sure all customers / staff are safe and free from harm
- Dealing with complaints
- Attending meetings regarding budgets / rents / implementing new housing legislation
Skills & experience of a Homeless Support Officer
- Proven track record of working In a homeless service before - dealt with a caseload and support sessions
- Flexible to work over days / evening / weekends during the week
- Holds an enhanced DBS child and adult cleared - Issued In the last 12 months or on the update service
