  • Job Vacancy: Housekeeper Part-Time (20 Hours per week)

    We provide supported accommodation hostels which are dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our residents. We are committed to assisting individuals in need, and we are currently seeking a diligent and compassionate Housekeeper to join the team.

    About the role:

    This opportunity is part of a committed team working in our Intensive Service in West Watford.

    As a Housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our hostel. You will contribute to creating a comfortable and hygienic living space for our residents, fostering a positive and caring atmosphere within the facility.

    Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial work is preferred but not required.
    Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    Compassionate and patient demeanour when interacting with residents.
    Excellent communication skills.
    Adhere to COSHH regulations at all times, ensuring safe storage of cleaning products
    Observe H&S whilst cleaning, placing appropriate warning signs as necessary.
    Carry out seasonal cleaning e.g., spring clean.
    Report any defects to equipment or building to staff on site
    Ensure no undue inconvenience is caused to residents whilst undertaking duties
    To undertake duties of a comparable nature and level of responsibility as may be required from time to time, as requested by manager/support staff.

    An Enhanced Disclosure check is required for this role.
    Background information:

    This is an exciting time to be joining as we embark on an ambitious plan to grow our housing service and double the impact we have across all our accommodation sites.

    In 2020/21 we provided over 185,030 nights of safe and secure accommodation to those most in need. Providing considerably more than just accommodation our highly experienced support and complex-needs team deliver over 23,000 housing-related support sessions each year through which our housing team were able to support a total of 992 vulnerable individuals to escape homelessness and rough sleeping with 463 of our residents being helped to move-on positively into their own long term settled accommodation.

This is a Part Time role.

Hours per week: 20

Working Pattern: Varied 7 days a week.


  • Its subsidiaries, the Early Childhood Partnership (ECP) and Signpost are on an exciting journey to double our impact by 2025. We are over half way through an exciting new strategy launched in the first hour of the new decade, via email where all staff and volunteers were invited to put themselves forward to apply and attend an intensive, three-day Kickstarter Event.
  • By the end of these three days, there was a brilliantly multi-faceted set of themes and ideas, which formed the starting point for the rest of the Mission 25 process to build on. The aim of Mission 25 is to give every staff member and volunteer the opportunity to play their part in shaping the strategy to do "more and better, together" so that we double our impact by 2025. We deliver a vast array of services across Herts, Beds and Bucks that reach over 135,000 individuals annually.
  • These include:
  • Provision of over 700 units of accommodation for homeless people
  • Move on accommodation for individuals moving onto independent living
  • Housing and practical/emotional support for young asylum seekers
  • Community HUBs hosting a range of activities and meeting space hire
  • Childcare provision in Hertfordshire
  • Family support through a network of children's and family centres covering Hertfordshire and Bedford
  • Therapeutic and non-therapeutic support for male and female victims of domestic abuse and their children
  • Independent sexual violence services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire
  • Domestic abuse perpetrator reform programmes across Bedfordshire
  • Youth services offering emotional wellbeing support and youth club opportunities for 11-19 year olds alongside our National Airplay programme funded by the RAF Benevolent Fund
