We have a current opportunity for a CYP - Outreach Worker on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Telford. For further information about this position please apply.

Job Title: Children & Young Peoples Outreach Worker

Location: Telford and Wrekin

Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 depending upon exp

Job Type: Temp to Perm

Industry: Domestic Abuse

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support and advice to children and young people, in schools and colleges on a one-to-one basis and/or in groups.
  • Identifying resources for parents/carers to use with their children
  • To make a difference by supporting those who look to us for support
  • To provide a high-quality service to children and young people experiencing or at risk of domestic abuse.
  • Working in a trauma-informed approach providing flexible outreach, advice, advocacy, harm reduction, and psychosocial interventions to children and young people.
  • Work in close partnership with other agencies to case manage children and young people, so they can access a full range of services.
  • Work directly with clients using a trauma informed approach and deliver interventions to support clients accessing services.
  • Support referral into service using structured guidelines to provide support for continuity of care.
  • Carry out triage and comprehensive assessments to provide relevant interventions based upon assessment or need.
  • Comply with policy and procedures in the monitoring and management of clients engaging to ensure safe delivery of interventions.

Person Specification

  • A flair for engaging, empowering and inspiring children and young people.
  • Experience of delivering age-appropriate interventions.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of domestic abuse issues.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of good practice in safeguarding.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
  • A commitment to the values of empowerment and equality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good written/verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to maintain clear professional boundaries.
  • Car user beneficial
