Are you a Housing Options Officer (Prevention& Relief) looking for work in East Hertfordshire?

Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in East Hertfordshire, is looking to recruit a Housing Options Officer (Prevention& Relief) to provide support throughout a busy period.

This assignment has been deemed inside of IR35.

As a Housing Options Officer (Prevention& Relief), you will play a key role in assessing housing needs, developing personalised plans, and connecting clients with resources to prevent homelessness and provide relief from housing instability.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have the ability to:

  • Provide tailored consultations to explore housing options, rights, and available support services.
  • Provide immediate relief and assistance to individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals and families facing housing crises, considering factors such as eviction threats, financial difficulties, and personal circumstances.
  • Develop and implement proactive prevention strategies to intervene early and stabilise tenancies at risk of breakdown.
  • Collaborate with landlords, housing agencies, and support services to address underlying issues and prevent evictions.
  • Offer temporary accommodation, emergency financial assistance, and access to essential services to meet basic needs.
  • Offer expert advice on available housing options, including social housing, private rentals, and temporary accommodation.
  • Assist clients in navigating housing policies, eligibility criteria, and application processes.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, support agencies, and community organisations.
  • Collaborate with partner organisations to coordinate holistic support services and wrap-around interventions for clients in need.
  • Develop and implement individualised housing plans for clients, ensuring alignment with their goals and preferences.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, documenting assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
