Permanent HR Officer - Manchester

We have an exciting opportunity available for a HR Officer based in Manchester. Salary up to £28k, onsite flexible working. LGPension Scheme.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing Organisation. The HR Officer will provide the day-to-day HR service, undertaking a range of HR and administrative activities to support case work, recruitment, on-boarding and will support the overall development of the HR service. There will be great opportunities for career progression as the business expands and the team grows.

HR Officer Responsibilities

  • Manage the administration of the HRIS (iTrent) throughout the employee lifecycle and support the ongoing development of the system.
  • Assist and advise on first line employee relations issues and recruitment enquiries via the HR Inbox, escalating to and supporting the HR Advisor when required.
  • Be the HR Team first point of the contact for any HR queries.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Support recruitment activity including managing the requisition process for advertising vacancies across the business, ensuring the correct documentation is uploaded.
  • Complete pre-employment checks for all new starters. Ensure the onboarding processes are completed for all new joiners.
  • Liaise closely with central HR team to ensure all HR policies and practices are followed out and implemented. Contribute to the continuous improvement of Human Resource practices and processes.
  • Liaise with and build relationships with trade union representatives.


Skills and Experience

  • Be CIPD qualified at level 3 or above or have significant experience working within HR in an HR environment.
  • Have experience using an iTrent or an HRIS system across the employee lifecycle.
  • Work efficiently and effectively, especially under pressure.
  • Work accurately with high attention to detail and be able to meet deadlines.
  • Be flexible in approach and confident in providing process guidance and advice.
