Job description
Financial Accountant
Morgan Hunt is working with a Housing Association who are looking at recruiting a Financial Accountant to assist whilst the main audit is being completed. The perfect candidate will support the delivery of a comprehensive and professional accounting function to the rest of the team. This 6-month temporary hybrid role is based in Didsbury with an hourly rate of £27.47 PAYE.
Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant:
- To maintain a system of quality assurance over financial processes both within the department and across the wider business
- Production of financial information for statutory and regulatory financial returns
- To undertake quality checks on financial information produced by the finance team
- To produce and / or review balance sheet reconciliations
- To oversee elements of centrally controlled journals and processing, including interfaces with non -finance systems as required
Previous Skills and Experience of the Financial Accountant:
- Recognised professional accountancy qualification or studying towards the qualification
- Experience within a finance setting, ideally within a regulated environment
- Experience of manipulating large volumes of data for multiple scenarios
- Assisting the Head of Financial Services with control reviews and Liaise with tax advisors over tax treatments and for corporation tax calculations
- Assist with the production of financial information for statutory accounts for year end, and quarterly soft closes
