    Job description

    Are you a Finance Director looking for work in West of England?

    Morgan Hunt's Public Sector and Government client based in South West England is looking to recruit a Finance Director To develop and implement a sustainable financial strategy for the Council.

    As the Finance Director, you will be responsible for:

    • Ensuring that the Council has a Medium Term Financial Strategy that operates within resources and delivering the Corporate Strategy.
    • Being the head of profession for all finance, procurement, revenues and benefits, internal audit and risk management staff across the Council, ensuring good quality financial advice, governance and leadership council-wide.
    • Managing the financial aspects of the Council's commercial interests, including the Council's wholly and partly owned trading and teckal companies.
    • Monitoring and reporting the on-going budget position in a transparent manner and deliver a balanced budget position.
    • Ensuring the Council has adequate and effective internal audit arrangements and an effective Audit Committee
