Security Officer

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Facilities Provider based in Bath, in their search for Security Officers.

As part of the security team, you will help in making sure that the centre and is accessible and safe for customers, visitors and staff. You will also be protecting buildings and valuable equipment

Job Title: Security Officer

Salary: £23k - £26k (hourly rate equivalent)

Location: Bath City Centre

Job Type: Permanent and Temporary Available

Hours: 40

Shifts: 4 days 4 off 4 nights. Days shifts 06.30-18.30 and night shifts 18.30-06.30.

Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities

• Patrolling client facing areas, service yards and BOH corridors ensuring H&S is kept, the areas are secure, and the centres processes are being followed by the tenants
• May be advising tenants, when necessary, on centre management regulations or liaising during fire alarm tests, diffusing incidents and preventing occurrences using "minimal enforcement"
• Maintaining Fire, Health and Safety Regulations and securing the premises.
• Responsible for full comprehensive understanding of fire alarm procedures.
• In relation to a major incident be fully conversant with the location of all plant room, service corridors and lifts, both by location and by name.
• Being the main point of radio contact for all on site Staff and tenants
• Start shift promptly at time designated, in full uniform.
• Appearance to be clean, smart, and tidy at all times.
• Responsible for active communication of "changeover" of shift to on shift supervisor. This to include handover of shift keys, PDA, confirmation of staff on shift, contractors on site, run-though of incident occurrences from previous shift, confirmation of any insecure doors, any matters pertaining to the smooth effective running of the shift.
• Responsible for full comprehensive understanding of fire alarm procedures.
• Responsible for acting as an evacuation marshal in the event of a major incident.
• In relation to a major incident must be fully conversant with the location of all plant room, service corridors and lifts, both by location and by name.
• Assisting clients on request on the event of an incident - this may be in person or by camera or both.
• Assisting Police presence on site either in person, by camera or by statement.

Personal Specification

• SIA licence (CCTV would be preferable)
• Security experience in any setting
• Articulate and can communicate effectively with clients
• Organised individual who can demonstrate a record of planning and managing workflows
• Able to demonstrate an understanding of high-quality service delivery and their impact on this
• The ability to be agile and flexible to meet the needs and demands of the role
• Excellent time management organisation and focus on ability to prioritise and multitask with clear ability to focus on detail
