An exciting opportunity has opened for compassionate and motivated individuals to join a dedicated team of Student Support Assistants in Oxford this September. Whether you're looking for a full-time position or more flexible part-time hours, this role allows you to support students in reaching their full potential.

About the Role

As a Student Support Assistant, you'll provide essential support to young people and adults with a range of needs, including severe, complex, or moderate learning difficulties, disabilities, and behavioural challenges. You'll assist in a variety of sessions such as Life Skills programmes, GCSEs, A-levels, and more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students in class to access learning
  • Promoting independence and engagement
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with tutors and support staff to deliver high-quality education

This role requires empathy, patience, and a strong desire to help others succeed. It's ideal for those from care, youth work, education, or support backgrounds, or anyone with the values and commitment to help students thrive.

What We're Looking For

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A calm and adaptable approach to support a variety of needs
  • Team-focused mindset with the ability to work collaboratively
  • Commitment to helping students develop confidence and independence
  • A desire to learn and grow professionally

Prior experience is welcomed but not essential-what matters most is your enthusiasm and commitment to supporting learners.

What's on Offer

  • Monthly Staff Appreciation Awards
  • Access to wellbeing support and mental health resources
  • Health Cash Plan (covering dental, optical, and therapy treatments for you and your dependents)
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
  • Local Government pension scheme
  • Up to 6 weeks of paid annual leave
  • Flexible working patterns, including term-time only options
  • Free parking and use of on-site facilities

Start your journey this September by joining a supportive team where you can help transform lives through education.
