Job Opportunity: Full-Time Specialist Autism Learning Support Assistant

A well-established North London college is seeking a committed and experienced Specialist Autism Learning Support Assistant for a full-time temporary role. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with autism and learning disabilities in a diverse and inclusive educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide personalised 1:1 and small-group support to students with autism and other learning needs
Implement and adapt individual learning plans in collaboration with teaching staff
Use specialist strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory tools) to support communication and engagement
Assist with emotional regulation and sensory needs
Foster independence, confidence, and social development
Contribute to planning and review meetings by reporting on progress
Ensure student safety and well-being, following all safeguarding protocols
What We're Looking For:
Experience working with individuals with autism in education or care settings
Familiarity with autism-specific support tools and communication aids
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive learning practices
