Job Opportunity: Full-Time Specialist Autism Learning Support Assistant

A well-established North London college is seeking a committed and experienced Specialist Autism Learning Support Assistant for a full-time temporary role. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with autism and learning disabilities in a diverse and inclusive educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised 1:1 and small-group support to students with autism and other learning needs

• Implement and adapt individual learning plans in collaboration with teaching staff

• Use specialist strategies (e.g., PECS, Makaton, sensory tools) to support communication and engagement

• Assist with emotional regulation and sensory needs

• Foster independence, confidence, and social development

• Contribute to planning and review meetings by reporting on progress

• Ensure student safety and well-being, following all safeguarding protocols

What We're Looking For:

• Experience working with individuals with autism in education or care settings

• Familiarity with autism-specific support tools and communication aids

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

• A calm, patient, and empathetic approach

• Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive learning practices
