Morgan Hunt is proud to be supporting a sixth form in the Bedfordshire in their search for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of Social Sciences to cover a maternity/paternity leave for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will teach A-Level Sociology, Psychology and/or Criminology, depending on their area(s) of specialism. This is a flexible role with teaching hours adjusted based on the number of subjects the candidate can offer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching across A-Level Sociology, Psychology and/or Criminology
- Assess student progress, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement
- Contribute to the broader life of the Sixth Form by participating in parents' evenings, open evenings and other marketing events
- Engage in continuous professional development and attend staff training sessions
Timetable:
- Open to negotiation depending on subject specialisms
- The number of subjects taught will determine the total weekly hours offered
Candidate Requirements:
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Degree in a relevant subject area
- Proven experience teaching at A-Level (or equivalent) is highly desirable
- A commitment to student achievement and academic excellence
- DBS on the Update Service
