Morgan Hunt is working with a number of charities and housing providers, who are looking to fill the role of Accommodation Support Worker. Our clients cover the Oldham area and are keen to speak to looking to people with experience within this field who may be looking for their next role! Depending on the service provider, accommodation could vulnerable people experiencing homelessness, severe and enduring mental health or fleeing domestic abuse.
As an Accommodation Support Worker, you will be responsible for;
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
- Carrying a caseload of clients for whom you will be the named key worker, and you will also take joint responsibility with your team members for the wellbeing and day to day support of all clients in the services.
- Completing risk and needs assessment and support planning for your key clients and contribute to ongoing needs and risk assessment of other clients in the service.
- Developing and implementing SMART outcomes-based support plans for your key clients.
- Delivering one-to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.
- Working proactively in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the well-being of clients.
- Ensuring the health and safety of the building is maintained building is clean and tidy at all times and completing regular building checks.
- Encouraging clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations.
- Preparing accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting new clients to settle in.
The candidate
- Experience of working with vulnerable people with complex needs i.e. homelessness, mental health, substance misuse or domestic abuse.
- Experience of lone working and the confidence to work independently within an accommodation-based service.
- A good communicator who is pro active and able to work on their own initiative.
- Experience of managing a caseload and using IT systems to log accurate and timely information.
Due to the nature of this role, an Enhanced Adult and Child DBS is required.
