We're representing a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the North East. Due to continued expansion and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial lead on a portfolio of civils and infrastructure projects.



What You'll Be Doing:

• Managing the commercial function on a variety of civil engineering, infrastructure projects
• Preparing and submitting accurate valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
• Managing subcontractor procurement, orders, variations and payments
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout project lifecycle
• Working closely with project delivery teams to ensure financial performance aligns with project goals
• Producing cost/value reports, forecasts, and commercial commentary for senior management
• Supporting junior QS team members with mentoring and guidance

What Background Will Work Well:

• Strong experience in civil engineering and infrastructure projects - e.g. groundworks, roads, drainage, substations, renewables or utilities
• Proven background in quantity surveying with a principal contractor or large subcontractor
• Ability to work independently and commercially lead multiple projects simultaneously
• Solid knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts
• Proficient in cost reporting, forecasting, and subcontract management
• A degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering (or similar)
• Comfortable working across pre-construction and live projects
