Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Hair and Media Makeup Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment to students studying vocational qualifications in Hair and Media Makeup. You will inspire and motivate learners to achieve their full potential and prepare them for progression into employment or further study within the creative industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons in Hair and Media Makeup across a range of levels (e.g., Level 1-3).
- Provide practical demonstrations in hairstyling, makeup artistry, special effects, and related skills.
- Support learners to develop both technical skills and professional behaviours required in the industry.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support to help learners achieve targets.
- Prepare learners for internal and external assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
- Ensure health, safety and hygiene standards are met at all times in practical sessions.
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities, ensuring provision remains up to date with industry trends.
- Participate in team meetings, staff development, and quality assurance processes.
Essential Requirements:
- Recognised qualification in Hair and Media Makeup or related field.
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.
- Industry experience within Hair, Makeup, or Creative Arts.
- Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to motivate and inspire learners.
