About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Plumbing Lecturer to join our teaching team. You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment to students on plumbing courses (Levels 1-3 and apprenticeships), inspiring them to develop the practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed for a successful career in the plumbing and heating industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in plumbing (theory and practical)
  • Teach learners across Levels 1-3 and apprenticeships, including adult learners
  • Plan, prepare, and assess learning materials in line with awarding body requirements (e.g. City & Guilds, EAL)
  • Support and guide learners to achieve their qualifications
  • Provide constructive feedback, academic support, and pastoral care
  • Ensure teaching meets quality standards, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements
  • Stay up to date with plumbing industry developments, including building regulations and water regulations
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, course design, and continuous quality improvement
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and quality assurance processes
  • Maintain accurate student progress and assessment records

Essential Requirements

  • Enhanced DBS clearance
  • Recognised Level 3 qualification in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to achieve one)
  • Recent industry experience as a qualified plumber
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusion in education

Desirable

  • Assessor Award (TAQA/A1) and/or IQA qualification
  • Experience teaching or training within Further Education or apprenticeships
  • Current knowledge of building regulations, water regulations, and renewable technologies
  • Ability to engage and motivate diverse learner groups
