Salary: £34,582 - £38,425 per annum + benefits
Contract: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract

About the role
As Senior Special Events Manager, you'll take ownership of large-scale, high-profile events - leading on concept development, sponsorship, and flawless delivery. Working alongside dedicated volunteer committees and senior supporters, you'll nurture and grow relationships at the highest level, ensuring every event achieves its full potential.
You'll manage a Special Events Executive, providing guidance and mentoring to help them thrive, while also acting as a key contributor to the strategic direction of the Special Events team. With creativity and innovation at the heart of your work, you'll bring fresh ideas and energy to our portfolio, ensuring we remain leaders in the sector.
Key responsibilities
Lead, plan, and deliver major fundraising events, ensuring an exceptional supporter experience.
Build and manage relationships with senior volunteers, committee members, sponsors, and corporate partners.
Secure and steward event sponsorships and high-value donations.
Manage budgets, monitor performance, and deliver against ambitious income targets.
Line-manage and mentor a Special Events Executive.
Work collaboratively across departments to maximise fundraising opportunities.
Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring best value and quality delivery.
About you
We're seeking someone with:
A proven track record of delivering and growing large-scale events, ideally within a fundraising, marketing, or corporate setting.
Outstanding relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders and volunteers.
Strong organisational and project management experience, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Experience of managing budgets and consistently achieving income targets.
A creative approach, with the ability to innovate and enhance supporter experiences.
Line management or mentoring experience, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with confidence in presenting to diverse audiences.
