Job description

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Senior Employee Relations Manager on a temporary basis for a women's charity. This is a hybrid role, one day per week in the London office paying £150 - £193 per day for 6 months initially. This is a varied role, working on employee relations cases, TUPE and other projects and the organisation needs support during a busier time for the HR team.

The Senior Employee Relations Manager is responsible for building strong working relationships across the organisation, working on ER projects as directed and advising, coaching and training stakeholders on best practice on all aspects of employee relations case work. This includes (but not limited to) disciplinary, grievances, absence management, probation's, restructures and TUPE as well as training and coaching managers to enable them to successfully manage their teams whilst effectively managing risks.



Accountabilities for the Senior Employee Relations Manager role:

  • Offering best practice and pragmatic advice on all areas relating to HR Case work with the outcome of aiming to reach successful resolution
  • Working on specific people projects as directed by Head of HR
  • Working with managers and staff to resolve conflict and grievances at the lowest level of formality possible
  • Addressing employee raised issues/concerns
  • Coaching and advising managers on policies/procedures, best practice and identifying risks
  • Ensuring compliance with employment law and policy and processes
  • Facilitate change - supporting and advising on restructures, TUPE etc
  • Reviewing and updating HR policies & procedures
  • Updating the ER Case log
  • Developing strong working relationships with staff, managers and leaders
  • Being a 'trusted advisor' to the organistion on all aspects of employee relations
  • Support on HR induction and HR related training
  • Building a good working relationship with the wider People team
  • Ensure people management practices reflect values and expected behaviours
  • Health & Wellbeing: Provide guidance to business on best practice approach to dealing with and supporting life events and issues relating to health and wellbeing, including reasonable adjustments and referral to Occupational Health
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Raise awareness of values and behaviours and lead by example



Knowledge, experience and skills needed for the Senior Employee Relations Manager role:

  • Generalist HR experience with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations and handling complex casework
  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or equivalent experience
  • Ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels in the organisation
  • Ability to give sound HR advice to managers on all aspects of people management to achieve best outcomes and ensure best practice
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to respond professionally to feedback, modifying or making recommendations for change to the HR policies, procedures and guidance as required
  • Ability to work at pace
  • Resilient
  • Team player
  • Good level of IT skills (Microsoft 365, use of HRIS)

If you are an experienced HR Manager/HR Advisor/ER Manager or Advisor with experience of employee relations cases up to hearing and appeals level; working on HR projects and are available on a week's notice or less then please apply ASAP! This role will be interviewing and starting ASAP!
