Roles and Responsibilities:

• To provide Science support, including core science concepts, microbiology, human biology and chemical analysis for Weston Health provisions.
• To deliver an exceptional student experience through outstanding teaching, learning and assessment leading to positive achievement outcomes and progression on to higher levels of study, employment, or apprenticeships.
• Tutoring of students, giving appropriate support to enable students to achieve their academic and vocational targets.
• Interviewing and giving guidance to potential students
• To plan, facilitate and supervise external activities and trips, including contributing to work experience planning.
• Contributing to the development and the continual improvement of courses, co-ordinating effectively with both staff and students.

Skills & experience

• Appropriate degree, with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS
• Familiarity with the national curriculum of England (Plus IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels as appropriate)
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating a child
• A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children
• Recent and consistent involvement in extracurricular activities
• Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
• A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
• A clean enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check or police check (for applicants who have never worked in UK) and no question regarding suitability to work with children
