Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (SEN & Personal Care)
Location: North London
Job Type: Full-Time
Hourly Rate: £13-£14/hr

A college in North London are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our dynamic team. This role involves supporting students with a variety of learning needs and physical disabilities, including wheelchair users. A key aspect of the role includes providing personal care, so candidates must be willing and experienced in delivering this support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored classroom support to students with SEN, under the direction of teaching staff.

• Assist with personal care duties such as toileting, dressing, feeding, and hygiene needs.

• Promote independence and inclusion both in and outside the classroom.

• Support students with mobility needs, including pushing wheelchairs and using specialist equipment.

• Monitor and record students' progress and behaviour in line with college procedures.

• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals.

• Ensure a safe and positive learning environment is maintained at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with young people with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

• Experience providing personal care and a clear understanding of dignity and respect in doing so.

• Experience working in a college, school, or other educational setting is essential.

• Comfortable and confident working with wheelchair users and using mobility aids.

• A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• A relevant qualification in learning support or care.

• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) is required.
