    Hours: 37 hours per week (with on-call duties outside normal working hours)


    About the Role

    We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Housing Officer to join a growing Housing and Tenancy Support Service supporting women and children fleeing domestic abuse. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new service providing dispersed refuge accommodation across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire.

  • Key Responsibilities of a Housing Officer

    • Provide one-to-one, person-centred support to tenants in dispersed properties.

    • Complete support plans and risk assessments, considering immediate needs and long-term goals.

    • Assist service users in identifying goals and tracking progress using tools like the Outcome Star.

    • Visit tenants regularly to assess support and tenancy management needs.

    • Signpost and refer individuals to specialist services as required.

    • Promote engagement with housing monitoring tools (e.g. Housing Proactive).

    • Maintain accurate and timely records of tenant interaction and progress.

    • Coordinate property maintenance, refurbishments, and handovers.

    • Liaise with landlords, suppliers, and contractors, managing disputes and ensuring value for money.

    • Monitor and maintain health & safety and compliance standards in properties.

    • Contribute to service development, inter-agency meetings, and performance reporting.


    What We're Looking For

    • Experience supporting vulnerable people as a Housing Officer, ideally within a housing or domestic abuse context.

    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    • Knowledge of tenancy rights and housing regulations is desirable.

    • A collaborative approach and excellent interpersonal skills.

    • Confidence in lone working and decision-making.

    • Willingness to be part of an on-call rota outside of normal hours.

    • Commitment to safeguarding and equality in all aspects of the work.

  • Additional Information

    • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.

    • Experience working as a Housing Officer.
    • The post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

    • Travel across Nottingham/Nottinghamshire will be required.
