Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Professional Regulatory Body in their search for an Interim Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance to provide leadership across governance, risk, and compliance functions, ensuring continuity of "business as usual" and planned growth while the department drives forward a significant programme of change.



This is a key interim opportunity to oversee risk, audit, information security, business resilience and environmental management, while leading and developing a team of subject matter experts. You will provide clear strategic direction, operational oversight and coaching to specialist managers, ensuring the function is aligned, high-performing and able to deliver against both current and future priorities. You will play a pivotal role in embedding a strong culture of accountability, assurance and continuous improvement.



You will be confident engaging with senior leadership, able to provide clear, evidence-based reports on risk, and experienced in managing external providers and assurance programmes. You will bring a breadth of knowledge across governance, risk and compliance, with particular expertise in at least one of risk & audit, information security, business resilience or environmental management. Strong knowledge and practical experience of working with ISO:27001 (and ideally ISO:14001 and/or ISO:22301) will be key to success in this role.





Job Title: Interim Head of Governance, Risk & Compliance

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working - 2 days per week in office)

Contract: 12 months (Interim/Secondment)

Salary: £57,786 per annum + excellent benefits

Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)





Key Responsibilities

· Lead the governance, risk and compliance function, providing strategic oversight while ensuring delivery of operational priorities.

· Line manage and develop a team of subject matter experts covering risk, resilience, information security and environmental management.

· Oversee the maintenance of ISO:27001-certified Information Security and ISO:14001-certified Environmental Management systems.

· Support the development and application of audit, assurance and the "three lines of defence" model.

· Provide high-quality, concise reporting to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.

· Develop and monitor risk management frameworks, ensuring enterprise-level risk is identified, assessed and mitigated.

· Manage relationships with third parties, developing assurance and audit programmes as needed.



Candidate Profile

· Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide both strategic direction and operational management.

· Generalist knowledge across governance, risk and compliance functions, with particular expertise in one of: risk & audit, information security, business resilience or environmental management.

· Experience managing certification and assessment against ISO standards, with strong knowledge of ISO:27001.

· Demonstrable experience working with external service providers and developing third-party assurance programmes.

· Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and the "three lines of defence" model.

· Ability to communicate risk and compliance issues clearly at executive level, with excellent reporting and stakeholder management skills.

· Experience of ISO:14001 and ISO:22301 (desirable).
