
SARs & Disclosures Officer
Morgan Hunt are currently working with a high-profile Children's Charity in their search for two temporary SARs & Disclosures Officer to support their Data Protection and Privacy Team and provide critical support in managing subject access and disclosure requests.
This is a varied role where you will be responsible for handling subject access requests (including children's cases, Phoenix cases, current caseloads and backlog), ensuring timely review, redaction and disclosure of information. Alongside this, you will manage disclosure requests and records requests, including those from the police, courts and legal representatives. You will work closely with colleagues across safeguarding, compliance and legal teams, ensuring that all disclosures are carried out lawfully, proportionately and with the utmost care for the sensitive nature of the information involved. These roles will directly support the organisation's wider safeguarding obligations by ensuring individuals' rights are respected while enabling critical external investigations to proceed smoothly.
The successful candidates will bring proven experience of managing children's SARs, including detailed redaction work using Adobe Acrobat Pro, alongside a collaborative, team-focused approach. You will need strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Job Title: SARs & Disclosures Officer
Location: Remote or Hybrid (London Office)
Hourly Rate: £19.00 - £25.00 (Umbrella)
Contract: Temporary (6 months, with potential extension)
Hours: Full-time (9:00am - 5:00pm)

Key Responsibilities
· Manage and progress a caseload of subject access requests (children's and HR-related) from initial triage through to disclosure.
· Review, redact and disclose sensitive personal data securely and accurately.
· Handle third-party disclosure requests, including police requests, court orders and solicitor enquiries.
· Log, track and report on SARs, disclosures and related requests to ensure compliance.
· Retrieve records from systems (Helpline, Childline, Phoenix) and archives, ensuring accurate data extraction.
· Support data breach triage, escalation and reporting as required.
· Provide advice and support to colleagues on data protection and disclosure processes.
· Contribute to team-wide objectives and continuous improvement within the Data Protection & Privacy function.
Candidate Profile
· Experience of managing children's SARs, including review and redaction.
· Proficient in using Adobe Acrobat Pro for redactions.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain processes clearly and sensitively.
· Strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
· A proactive, reliable and friendly team player with a positive attitude.
· Knowledge of data protection and information governance principles.
