Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team on a temporary basis (approximately 2-3 months) with a pay rate of £14.00 per hour (£15.69 including holiday pay). This is a full-time role (37.5 hours per week) requiring flexibility to work on a rota basis across Monday to Sunday. Shifts include early (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM), mid (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM), and late (2:30 PM - 10:30 PM). Please note: this role involves lone working.


Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a caseload of 10 young people and conduct regular key work sessions to co-produce support and safety plans that are SMART and outcome-focused.
  • Develop high-quality risk assessments and risk management plans.
  • Work collaboratively to assess referrals and determine suitability for the service.
  • Ensure young people receive a warm welcome into safe, high-standard accommodation with access to local service information.
  • Collaborate with social workers to support family reunification where appropriate, or with the Housing Pathway Manager to progress young people through the housing nomination scheme.
  • Support young people in accessing benefits, managing rent and service charges, and reducing arrears and void losses.
  • Organise and lead activities that build independence and life skills.
  • Help young people access education, employment, or training opportunities by identifying and securing appropriate placements.
  • Undertake housing management and Health & Safety duties, including room checks, cleaning, inspections, and reporting maintenance issues.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted's principles for supported accommodation and the ability to apply them in practice.
  • Knowledge and experience of trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches, especially in working with young people facing mental health challenges, self-harm, or emerging personality disorders.
  • Experience in key working, support planning, and life skills development.
  • A solid understanding of how the "Every Child Matters" framework applies in a residential setting.
  • Working knowledge of welfare benefits for under 21s, rent systems, and service charges.
  • Strong written and numerical skills, with the ability to produce clear reports, letters, and meeting minutes.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting young people in a residential environment, with a focus on safety, progression, and meaningful engagement.
