Job Title: Substance Misuse Recovery Worker (3-Month Temporary Contract)
Location: Birmingham
Hours: Full time / 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Temporary - 3 months ( possible of extension )
Sector: Substance Misuse
Pay: £22 per hour
About the Role
We're looking for a passionate and committed Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join our team in Birmingham for a 3-month temporary post. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in people's lives while gaining valuable experience in a supportive and professional environment.
What you'll be doing
- Building strong, supportive relationships with service users
- Carrying out risk assessments and developing care & harm reduction plans
- Delivering 1-to-1 sessions and face-to-face support for adults with substance misuse challenges
- Using a person-centred approach to empower service users and increase their independence
- Providing both brief interventions and longer-term structured support
- Offering safer injecting advice and conducting urine screenings where needed
- Regularly reviewing care plans with service users to track progress
What we're looking for
- Experience working in substance misuse or a related field
- Solid knowledge of substance misuse and harm reduction
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Experience in drug testing is desirable, but not essential
- DBS on update service.
