Summary

Are you an experienced electrician or inspector looking for your next challenge? We're recruiting an Electrical Inspector to play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and quality of electrical installations across a large and varied property portfolio, including public buildings and housing stock.

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your technical expertise to improve building safety, support residents, and make a real difference to the communities we serve.




Responsibilities

  • Inspecting electrical installations to ensure compliance with current regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
  • Reviewing and verifying electrical certification (EICRs, minor works, installation reports).
  • Identifying and reporting unsafe or non-compliant works, supporting remedial actions.
  • Monitoring contractor performance and ensuring billing matches completed works.
  • Checking health & safety compliance during electrical projects.
  • Maintaining accurate records of inspections, certifications, and compliance.
  • Providing expert technical advice to colleagues and contractors.
  • Assisting with planning electrical testing programmes and upgrade works.
  • Responding to incidents, faults, and emergency repairs.
  • Contributing to policies and procedures on electrical compliance and asset safety.




About you

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Electrotechnical Qualification or NVQ Diploma (essential)
  • C&G 2391 (or equivalent) (essential)
  • Time-served electrician (desirable)

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Strong experience managing electrical contractors and delivering EICR programmes.
  • Detailed knowledge of domestic electrical installations.
  • Knowledge of lighting, door entry/access systems, HVAC or lightning protection (desirable).

Skills:

  • Strong technical expertise - able to act as a Qualifying Supervisor.
  • Excellent communication - able to explain technical issues clearly and support contractors.
  • Organised and methodical - able to manage workload and maintain accurate records.
  • Customer-focused - empathetic and professional when working with residents.
  • Team player - able to work closely with the Electrical Manager and colleagues.

Other Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to attend evening meetings and occasional on-call duties.
