Morgan Hunt is working in partnership with a highly regarded Further Education College in the East and South Yorkshire. We are seeking a passionate and experienced HE Children Development Lecturer to join a cohesive and dedicated team of educators.
The Role:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and passionate HE Children Development Lecturer to join their Early Years team. The successful candidate will plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching and learning in early years programmes, supporting learners to achieve excellent outcomes. You will contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and learner progression, ensuring courses meet regulatory standards and reflect best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
· Design and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons in Children Development.
· Assess, monitor, and report on learners' progress; provide timely feedback.
· Develop curriculum content that is up‑to‑date with statutory frameworks (EYFS, etc.) and best pedagogical practice.
· Support learners in developing both practical skills (working with children, enabling environments, health & safety, etc.) and theoretical understanding.
· Liaise with external partners (nurseries, schools, daycare providers) for placements, observations, and collaborative learning.
· Participate in staff development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement activities.
· Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with FE college policies and safeguarding procedures.
· Up to date knowledge of the Ofsted and QAA for Higher Education Inspectorate process.
Education, Skills and Requirements:
· An appropriate level of qualification in Early Years
· Qualified Teaching Qualification, i.e. DTLLS, Cert. Ed/PGCE, or equivalent (or a commitment to work towards in line with contractual requirements).
· GCSE A* - C in English and Maths qualifications (Grades 9 - 4) or equivalent.
· Experience teaching within Further Education or similar educational settings
· Strong understanding of safeguarding and current industry practices
· Excellent interpersonal and classroom management skills
