Maintenance Officer

Morgan Hunt are currently recruiting for a Maintenace Officer for a Housing Association based in Edinburgh for a 3-6 month contract.

The role will involve handling day-to-day repairs, supervising planned maintenance projects, inspecting properties (especially voids), liaising with tenants and ensuring compliance with standards.

The duties include:

• Reactive Maintenance: Responding to tenant repair requests, troubleshooting issues, and organising fixes for urgent problems.
• Planned Maintenance: Overseeing larger refurbishment projects and preventative maintenance.
• Property Inspections: Conducting pre- and post-void inspections to assess condition and work needed.
• Tenant Liaison: Communicating with residents about maintenance work and resolving related issues.
• Contractor Management: Liaising with external contractors to ensure quality and value for money.

Experience needed for the role will be:

• Experience in housing maintenance.
• Technical knowledge and experience
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Understanding of housing association operations and repairs.
