I am pleased to be supporting a leading UK governing body in recruiting a Senior .NET Developer to join their DDaT Directorate on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Microsoft developer to play a key role in modernising digital services and delivering cloud-first solutions that have real public impact.
About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who wants to:

- Work closely with stakeholders to design and deliver accessible, cloud-hosted websites built using modern engineering practices and industry-standard design patterns.
- Lead the development of mission-critical applications, using event-driven architecture and Domain Driven Design to deliver scalable, resilient and maintainable solutions.
- Support the modernisation of legacy applications by refactoring them into cloud-based microservices, optimising performance, reliability and long-term scalability.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent knowledge of C# and the .NET framework.
- Extensive experience with web technologies, particularly ASP.NET MVC.
- Strong practical understanding of Event-Driven Architecture and Domain Driven Design.
- Experience with TDD/BDD, ideally using ReqnRoll and Playwright for web UI testing.
- Experienced in Agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and confident applying Agile values and principles.
- Proven track record of improving development methodologies, standards, and practices.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Sitecore, Umbraco or similar CMS platforms.
- Experience designing and building secure internal and external APIs.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure (Functions, Logic Apps, App Services).
- Experience using Azure DevOps and creating CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with NServiceBus or Azure Service Bus.
