Temporary Teacher of English - Full-Time

We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of English for a temporary full-time role at a well-regarded secondary school in Berkshire. This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who enjoys inspiring young people and delivering high-quality teaching across the ability range.


The Role

Teach English across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience desirable but not essential)

Deliver engaging, well-planned lessons rooted in a strong love of literature and language

Support students to become confident readers, writers and communicators

Use assessment effectively to monitor progress and raise attainment

Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement and home learning

Work collaboratively within a supportive and established English department

Contribute to whole-school priorities around achievement and personal development

The Ideal Candidate

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards it

Has a relevant degree in English or a related subject

Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school

Strong classroom management and organisational skills

Enthusiastic, reflective and committed to safeguarding and student wellbeing
