Role Purpose
The Plumbing and Gas Trainer/Assessor is responsible for delivering high-quality training and assessment to learners undertaking plumbing and gas qualifications. The role ensures all training and assessment activities meet regulatory, compliance, and industry standards while supporting learners to achieve competency and successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery
Deliver engaging, compliant training in plumbing and gas qualifications across theory and practical components
Facilitate classroom, workshop, and/or on-site training sessions
Adapt delivery methods to suit diverse learner needs and experience levels
Maintain up-to-date training resources and learning materials
Assessment
Conduct fair, valid, reliable, and flexible assessments in line with training package requirements
Gather and record evidence of competency using approved assessment tools
Provide clear, constructive feedback to learners
Participate in assessment validation and moderation activities
Compliance & Administration
Ensure all training and assessment complies with relevant training packages, standards, and regulatory requirements
Accurately complete and maintain student records, attendance, assessments, and reporting
Support audits, internal reviews, and continuous improvement processes
Support learners with mentoring, guidance, and workplace readiness
Liaise with employers, apprentices, and stakeholders as required
Essential Requirements
Trade qualification in Plumbing and Gas
Current industry experience and demonstrated vocational competency
Trainer and Assessor qualification (e.g. TAE40122 or equivalent)
Sound knowledge of relevant plumbing and gas codes, standards, and regulations
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to engage and motivate adult learners
High level of organisation and attention to detail
Current driver's licence
