Strategic Risk & Analysis Manager

Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Professional Regulator in their search for a Strategic Risk & Analysis Manager to join a central policy and insight function. This is a newly created, permanent role offering the opportunity to shape how the organisation identifies, analyses and responds to emerging risks across a complex and evolving sector.



In this role, you will sit within the Risk, Analysis & Insight directorate and take responsibility for leading the day-to-day operation and development of the organisation's risk and intelligence framework. You will bring together research, stakeholder insight and regulatory data to identify emerging risks, assess their impact, and support the organisation in making informed, proportionate policy and regulatory decisions.



A key part of the role will involve chairing cross-organisational and external meetings, drawing together perspectives from diverse and sometimes challenging stakeholders. You will be responsible for encouraging meaningful discussion, extracting insight, and translating complex information into clear regulatory conclusions. You will also assess the significance and priority of risks, ensuring that workstreams are progressed effectively and that emerging issues are escalated appropriately.



Alongside this, you will undertake hands-on research and analysis, identifying patterns, linking insights across different sources, and supporting the development of the organisation's broader policy response. The role requires someone who can visualise the bigger picture, balance competing priorities, and move projects forward in a complex, matrix environment.



The successful candidate will bring strong experience in research, analysis or policy within a regulatory or public sector context. You will be a confident communicator, comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders, and able to produce clear, defensible analysis that informs strategic decision-making.





Job Title: Strategic Risk & Analysis Manager

Location: Hybrid - 1-2 days per week in the office (London or Birmingham)

Salary: £60,409.75 (Birmingham) / £66,450.73 (London)

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time





Key Responsibilities

· Lead the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the organisation's risk and intelligence framework.

· Chair meetings with internal and external stakeholders to gather insight and reach regulatory conclusions.

· Identify, assess and prioritise emerging risks across the market.

· Translate research and intelligence into clear regulatory or policy recommendations.

· Progress key projects and workstreams, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.

· Maintain an auditable pipeline of risks, insights and resulting regulatory actions.

· Develop criteria and processes for early identification and escalation of risks.

· Build relationships with external organisations to identify best practice.

· Support organisational understanding of risk through education, coaching and collaboration.

· Produce clear, defensible analysis for senior leadership and governance forums.





Candidate Profile

· Strong experience in research, analysis or policy roles, ideally within a regulatory or public sector environment.

· Proven ability to identify and assess risks at a strategic level.

· Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills.

· Experience chairing meetings and drawing insight from diverse viewpoints.

· Strong analytical skills across qualitative and quantitative methods.

· Ability to link complex information and see the wider policy picture.

· Proven experience progressing projects or workstreams in complex organisations.

· Strong written communication skills, able to produce clear, defensible analysis.

· Collaborative, confident and able to lead through influence.
