Pay Rate: £22ph to 25ph Ltd

Hours: 35 hrs 9am to 17:00pm Mon to Fri

Location: East London

Duration 2 months on going contract

Must have Enhanced Children DBS Certificate on update service or Happy to apply for DBS Certificate

Purpose of the Role

Provide safe, effective electrical and general maintenance support across college buildings. Maintain building appearance, safety, electrical systems, and support operational maintenance with minimal disruption. Monitor contractor activity and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out electrical works and general building maintenance.
  
• Maintain generators, lighting, and electrical systems.
  
• Diagnose faults and repair or replace parts.
  
• Maintain accurate maintenance records including CAFM updates.
  
• Perform planned and preventative maintenance.
  
• Use technical drawings and manuals to plan repairs.
  
• Monitor contractor activity and quality.
  
• Ensure mechanical and electrical systems function effectively.
  
• Maintain site safety and security during maintenance.
  
• Travel between campuses as required.
  
  Person Specification -
  
  Education & Qualifications
  
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  
• Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills
  
• City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in electrical trade.
  
• 17th/18th Edition certification.
  
  
  Experience
  
• 5 years electrical trade experience.
  
• Experience working in occupied buildings.
  
• Experience using CAFM software (desirable).
  
  Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours
  
  
• Competent electrical tradesperson with multi-skilled ability.
  
• Ability to assess work, obtain materials and complete tasks to a high standard.
  
• Ability to fault-find on complex systems.
  
• Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  
• Proactive maintenance approach.
  
• Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
  
• Safe manual handling; ability to work at height or confined spaces.
