Our client, a leading substance misuse charity are currently recruiting for two Substance Misuse Recovery Workers based in Merseyside. These are full time, 3 month contracts to start immediately working Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm.




The role

As a Recovery Worker, you will be responsible for;

• Supporting service users from first contact through their full treatment and recovery journey.
• Delivering screening, assessments, psychosocial interventions, and structured recovery plans with appropriate onward referrals.
• Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm for individuals and the wider community.
• Advocating for access to partner agencies and specialist services.
• Promoting social reintegration, resilience, peer support, and independent, meaningful living.

The Candidate

• Excellent understanding of drug and alcohol issues and experience of working within a related field.
• A commitment to multi-agency working and establishing partnerships with other professions to achieve good outcomes for the service user group, e.g. mental health services, criminal justice agencies, community groups, etc.
• Excellent time management skills, and an ability to work on own initiative, prioritising accordingly.
• Experience of working with opiate and non-opiate caseloads.
