.NET Developer

Permanent - £53,000 + Excellent Benefits

Brighton / Hybrid (6 days per month onsite)

I'm delighted to be supporting a leading UK governing body in recruiting a .NET Developer to join their DDaT Directorate on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for a motivated Microsoft developer to contribute to the modernisation of digital services and help deliver cloud-first solutions that support meaningful public outcomes.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who wants to:

  • Work with modern Microsoft and cloud technologies in a supportive, collaborative team.
  • Develop and maintain accessible, cloud-hosted websites using established engineering practices and design patterns.
  • Contribute to the improvement and refactoring of existing applications, helping transition legacy systems toward more scalable, cloud-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product teams and senior developers to deliver high-quality software that meets user needs.
  • Continue growing their technical skills, with strong opportunities for learning and development.


Essential Skills & Experience

  • Solid knowledge of C# and the .NET framework.
  • Experience building web applications, ideally with ASP.NET MVC or ASP.NET Core.
  • Good understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices.
  • Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable code and contribute to code reviews.


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with content management systems such as Sitecore or Umbraco.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Logic Apps).
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks or UI testing tools.
  • Understanding of APIs, integration patterns or message-based architectures.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or similar tooling for version control and CI/CD.
