
Estate Officer/Handyperson - North London
Morgan Hunt is recruiting for an Estate Officer/Handyperson to work with a Housing Trust based in North London on a temporary basis. The details of the job are below:
Hours: Full-time 35 hours 9am to 5pm Mon - Fri
Pay Rate: £18.73ph Ltd
Location: North London
Duration: 3 months on going contract
Must have full clean driving licence company van will be provided.
Job Role
As an Estates Officer you will support the Housing team to deliver an excellent responsive estate management service to customers by ensuring communal areas are safe and attractive.
Your role will include checking communal areas at our sites across London for safety, installing signs and undertaking minor works or repairs to minimise potential risks (e.g. fitting window restrictors, re-fixing loose floor coverings, fitting bolts, changing bulbs).
You will also be responsible for clearing goods from communal areas and placing them in storage for either collection by the owner or final disposal.
Your role will be flexible and you may be asked to complete a range of administrative tasks to help us deliver the services and service standard residents want.
You need to provide a high quality, responsive estate management service to our residents by ensuring communal areas are safe by minimising potential risks.
You will support local housing teams to achieve Fire Risk Assessment targets using an online platform where you will see which fire safety actions you need to complete.
You do this to support the teams to keep communal areas safe and free from identified health and safety risks.
People are at the heart of this job. You'll need to be a good communicator as you will work with a wide range of people including Housing Officers, Residents and Contractors.
You will liaise with Residents and Housing Officers to get access to properties to ensure you can complete the fire safety actions.
This role suits someone who enjoys helping others and making sure they love where they live.
You'll also demonstrate attention to detail by follow our procedures and ensuring you deal with any fire risk issues in a timely manner.
Suitable Candidate
The successful candidate will ideally have worked in a facilities or estate management environment, but this is not essential and have recent customer service experience.
You must hold a valid UK Driving Licence and have been driving as part of your main job role for the last 2-5 years.
You will have the ability to undertake manual handling activities and the knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety legislation to ensure that all our customers live in a safe and happy environment.
You'll also be a problem solver with the drive and attention to detail to get the job done well first-time round … every time.
This is a demanding role and requires someone that has a friendly approachable manner and a "can do" attitude.
Must have the ability to build good relations with residents and contractors to ensure highest standards are achieved quickly and with minimum fuss
