
Data Research Analyst
We are looking for a curious and analytical Research Analyst to help turn complex health data into clear insights that shape policy and influence national decision-making.
In this role, you will deliver high-quality research and data analysis that supports evidence-based policy development and advocacy across the NHS. Working closely with colleagues in the policy and strategy teams, you will analyse key datasets, interpret emerging trends, and communicate findings clearly to both internal and external audiences.
Your work will help build a credible evidence base used to influence decision-makers across government and the health system.
The Role
This role sits within the organisation's research function and plays a key role in understanding the challenges facing the NHS.
You will work across a wide range of topics - from rapid analysis of new data releases to deeper research projects exploring complex issues such as health inequalities, system performance, and service pressures.
Your analysis will contribute to policy reports, consultations, media commentary and briefings for sector leaders. You will also produce accessible data visualisations and insights that help translate complex evidence into clear messages.

Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of datasets to identify trends, insights and emerging challenges within the NHS.
Analyse publicly available statistics and performance data to track system trends and key indicators.
Provide rapid analysis of new statistical releases and emerging policy issues.
Carry out desk-based research to support policy briefings, reports and media enquiries.
Work with internal teams to analyse survey data and support the design of research projects.
Policy Insight & Influence
Develop clear, evidence-based policy recommendations.
Present data and insights in an accessible and visually engaging way.
Support the development of policy briefings, reports and consultation responses.
Communication
Produce clear, well-structured written analysis, including reports, briefings and visualisations.
Translate complex information into plain English for a range of audiences.
Present insights in meetings and forums with sector leaders and stakeholders.
Collaboration & Project Delivery
Contribute to research projects from planning through to delivery.
Work closely with colleagues across policy, communications and engagement teams.
Support stakeholder engagement and maintain accurate records of interactions and activity.
About You
We are looking for someone who combines strong analytical skills with curiosity about health policy and the NHS.
You will be comfortable working with data, identifying meaningful insights and communicating findings clearly to different audiences.
You will likely bring:
Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative research
Ability to analyse data and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations
Strong written communication skills and the ability to write clear, concise briefings
Understanding of the UK public policy environment
Experience managing or contributing to research or analytical projects
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
