Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pensions Officer to join a busy and supportive organisation in East London on a long-term temporary basis. This is a great opportunity for a knowledgeable pensions professional to support the administration and management of pension schemes while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer pension schemes in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements

• Process pension calculations including retirements, transfers, refunds, and death benefits

• Maintain accurate pension records and update member information on pension systems

• Respond to enquiries from scheme members, employers, and external stakeholders

• Provide clear guidance on pension benefits, contributions, and options available to members

• Support the preparation of pension reports and documentation

• Ensure compliance with relevant pension legislation and scheme regulations

• Assist with data validation, audits, and reconciliation processes

• Work collaboratively with payroll, HR teams, and external pension providers

Requirements

• Previous experience working in pension administration or pension services

• Good understanding of pension regulations and procedures (Local Government Pension Scheme experience desirable but not essential)

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when processing calculations and records

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a busy environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pension administration systems
