Job Title: Criminology Lecturer

Status: Part-Time

Working Hours: 25 hours per week


Job Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Criminology Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching and support to students across criminology programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field, combined with practical experience in the criminal justice system.

The Criminology Lecturer will engage students through interactive lectures, seminars, and workshops, promoting critical thinking, research skills, and ethical understanding of crime, law, and justice.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops in criminology and related subjects.
  • Design and develop course materials, including syllabi, assessments, and learning resources.
  • Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student work.
  • Supervise and support students in academic and research projects.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the criminology program.
  • Stay current with developments in criminology, criminal justice, and higher education pedagogy.
  • Support student employability through guidance on career pathways in criminal justice, law enforcement, and related fields.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and institutional initiatives.

Mandatory Requirements

  • A relevant degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a closely related discipline (Master's or PhD preferred).
  • Proven experience in teaching, lecturing, or training in criminology or related subjects.
  • Knowledge of current trends, theories, and research in criminology and criminal justice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with virtual learning environments and educational technology is desirable.

Desirable Attributes

  • Practical experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, or forensic research.
  • Experience supervising dissertations or research projects.
  • Ability to integrate real-world case studies into teaching.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
