Location: Edinburgh (1 day per week in office)

A public sector organisation in Edinburgh is looking for an experienced Senior Finance Partner to support the finance function during a major finance system transition.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders to maintain strong financial reporting and controls while helping the organisation move to its new finance system.
You will also provide day to day leadership to a small finance team, supporting workflow and delivery across key finance activities.
This opportunity would suit a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner with public sector experience who enjoys working in a complex and purpose driven environment.
Responsibilities
* Deliver management accounts, budgeting and financial reporting
* Support the organisation through a finance system transition
* Prepare and review VAT returns including partial recovery
* Maintain accuracy of financial records and trial balance
* Provide day to day support to a team of up to 5 finance staff
* Work with managers to develop realistic financial forecasts
Requirements
Essential
* Public sector finance experience
* Management accounting and financial reporting background
* Experience preparing VAT returns
* Ability to support and coordinate a small finance team
* Strong Excel and financial systems knowledge
Qualifications
Qualified, Part Qualified or Qualified by Experience accountants will be considered.
Desirable
* Charity sector experience
* Knowledge of Charity SORP
Working Pattern
Hybrid working with typically one day per week in the Edinburgh office.
Start Date
Looking for someone who can start ASAP. Candidates finishing a contract within roughly the next two weeks will also be considered.
