Finance Officer will be working for a large housing provider managing tens of thousands of homes and serving over 100,000 customers across the South of England. We are seeking a Finance Officer to join our team. In this role, you'll support our commitment to high-quality service and efficient operations.

The role

They are looking for a Finance Officer to join our Purchase Ledger team for a six-month role, make sure invoices are accurate and payments are made on time. You will help reduce creditor payment times, resolve discrepancies and manage high-volume data efficiently. Strong attention to detail, proactivity, and excellent communication skills are essential. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, supportive environment and develop your finance career.

What will you be doing

  • Manage the registration and processing of all invoices, checking the purchase order controls are followed and payments are made on time.
  • Match invoices to authorised orders, investigate discrepancies, and work with internal departments and creditors to maintain excellent service.
  • Perform weekly payment runs, validate invoice documentation and manage supplier accounts while mitigating any fraud risks.
  • Support the Purchase Ledger team in improving KPIs, reconciling supplier statements, and maintaining accurate records, including CIS-related costs.
  • Process payments, rent refunds and void property billings, prioritising urgent communications and compliance with all control measures.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' finance experience with strong accuracy.
  • Confident communicator, delivering excellent customer service.
  • Basic Excel skills and demonstrates organisational values.
