Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foundation Learning Lecturer to join a dynamic and inclusive college in East London on a full-time basis. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support learners with diverse needs, helping them develop essential life, employability, and academic skills for future progression.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Foundation Learning programmes, including Entry Level and Level 1 courses
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet individual learner needs
  • Support learners in developing key skills such as literacy, numeracy, communication, and employability
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Assess, track, and monitor learner progress, providing timely and constructive feedback
  • Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and targeted support strategies
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, including learning support assistants and pastoral teams
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement processes
  • Support learners in progressing to further education, training, or employment

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent), or willingness to work towards one
  • Experience teaching Foundation Learning, SEN, or learners with additional needs in a Further Education setting
  • Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to motivate and support learners with a range of abilities and backgrounds
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults
