Job Title: Games Design Tutor

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and creative Games Design Tutor to join a dynamic college in East London on a permanent, full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to support and inspire learners pursuing qualifications in Games Design, Development, and related digital creative disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and tutorial support across Games Design courses (e.g., BTEC, UAL, or other creative digital qualifications)
- Plan engaging, practical, and interactive sessions aligned with curriculum and industry standards
- Support learners in developing skills in areas such as game mechanics, level design, storytelling, and interactive media
- Provide guidance on relevant software and tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on student projects and coursework
- Monitor learner progress and provide targeted one-to-one or small group support where required
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
- Support learners in progressing to employment, apprenticeships, or higher education in games and creative industries
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Games Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a related field (Degree preferred)
- Teaching or tutoring qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
- Experience supporting or teaching Games Design or a related subject in a Further Education or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of games development tools and industry practices
- Excellent communication, organisational, and mentoring skills
- Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
