Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Building Services

A leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join its growing Building Services team in Edinburgh. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer ready to take the next step in their career, they are also open to level and would consider an experienced mechanical candidate at Associate or Associate Director.

The Role

You will play a key role in the design, delivery, and leadership of mechanical building services projects across a diverse portfolio, including education, hotel & leisure, healthcare, MOD.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading mechanical design on projects from concept through to completion
• Managing project teams and mentoring junior engineers
• Engaging directly with clients, architects, and other stakeholders
• Delivering high-quality, sustainable design solutions
• Supporting business development, fees, bids and contributing to strategic growth (particularly at Associate/AD level)

About You

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Proven experience in building services design within a consultancy environment
• Strong technical expertise in HVAC, public health, and sustainable design
• Proficiency with relevant design software
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Chartered status (or working towards) preferred
